Congratulations to the team of Barry Silk, Joe Haertel & Mark Lipshutz on their landslide (it must be a presidential election year!) victory; further kudos to both Team Barry and Mike Hubbard's team who each correctly identified 2 songs that no one else was able to figure out. I included more top-10 songs in this quiz than appeared in either of the 2 previous quizzes--and the winning score was higher than in 2 of the previous 7 quizzes--that was the good news!! The bad news was that everyone scored below their average based on the figures available to me. Obviously, I didn't realize that the quiz would turn out to be that difficult; in fact, I'd be interested in hearing from all entrants as to which songs they actually knew (but failed to identify) after reading the answers below. Thanks to all who responded &, as promised, I'll try to make my next quiz somewhat easier. Rick Schubert will be posting GOLQ28 any time now. Some of the selections were based on my attendance at the Meadowlands Arena on 5/2 for Richard Nader's Doo-Wopp Reunion III starring Randy & The Rainbows, (Little) Peggy March, Frankie Ford, The Excellents*, The Duprees, The Dubs, The Channels, Rudy West And The Keys (The Five Keys), Johnny Maestro And The Brooklyn Bridge & The Harp-tones. From this quiz, songs #3, #5, #8 & #TB1 were performed by the original artists while song #TB2 was performed by a contest-winning a cappella group during intermission of the 5-hour show; by the way, I thought the show was excellent. * As Rick Schubert pointed out to me, had I attended the concert prior to Barry Silk's GOLQ23, I'd probably have gotten "Coney Island Baby".
