Third place goes to the team of Barry Silk, Jenny McCaw, and Scooter Magruder, who got 460 plus (as almost everyone did) #T1. Tying for 4th place were Jamie Lubin and Really Rockin' In Boston, each with a 440+. Several others were hot in the medal chase with over-400 scores. The mean score of the quiz was about 366. Check out the solution to The Puzzler and the names of those entrants who solved it in the section following the main quiz. My thanks to everyone who participated. GOLQ181 should be posted fairly soon. The full statement: Thinking that Western DJs would have a hard time pronouncing it, Pye Records issued "Ue O Muite Aruko" as "Sukiyaki"; Newsweek quipped that this was like releasing "Moon River" in Japan as "Beef Stew". One of the completed answers' columns spells out the titles of the two other songs sharing a rare distinction with the aforementioned hit, "Sukiyaki." This column (I apologize for a couple of the letters' being slightly askew) reads "DOMINIQUE VOLARE". The rare distiction shared by just these three - partially solved by some entrants, but only fully specified by Will McCorry - is that "Sukiyaki" (by Kyu Sakamoto in 1963), "Dominique" (by The Singing Nun in 1963/64), and "Volare" (fully titled "Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu (Volare)", by Domenico Modugno in 1958) were the only three songs sung in a language other than English to reach #1 on the 1955-1969 Billboard pop charts.
