#T2) Little Walter and His Jukes: My Babe (1955) [-] {1}

     Blues harmonica player Marion Walter Jacobs was born in Louisiana in
     1930. "My Babe," based on the spiritual "This Train," was #1 on the
     R&B charts for 5 weeks in 1955. His first single, the instrumental
     "Juke," had previously been #1 on the R&B charts in 1952 for 8 weeks.
     However, it was his re-recorded version of "My Babe" in 1960 that was
     Little Walter's only single to make a run at the pop charts, peaking
     at #106.

     From BLUES WITH A FEELING, THE LITTLE WALTER STORY by Glover, Dirks,
     and Gaines:

        His relentless creativity and drive propelled him to the top of
        the national R&B music charts, with 14 Top-10 hits, including two
        that reached #1, a feat never accomplished by Muddy Waters, Howlin'
        Wolf or Sonny Boy Williamson, his successful blues label mates at
        Chess and Checker Records. He was the first Chicago blues artist
        to play New York's famed Apollo Theater. He toured the country
        as part of Alan Freed's legendary Rock & Roll package tours, and
        toured Europe twice. B. B. King and Ray Charles would come out and
        sit in with his band in Chicago.
