Date: Tue, 28 Oct 2003 14:57:36 +0000 Subject: CORRECTION(S) to RESULTS and ANSWER KEY for Golden Oldies Lyrics Quiz 200 (GOLQ200) From: Tom and Rick <pilliontj@navair.navy.mil> ("The Falk") RESULTS & ANSWER KEY for GOLDEN OLDIES LYRICS QUIZ #200 (GOLQ200) Congratulations to all for scoring so well on GOLQ 200, the goal of which was to provide a challenging and entertaining quiz. Many of you said you enjoyed the quiz, but we could tell immediately after we posted it that it was far easier than we anticipated. Thinking that using just three words might be too difficult, we selected as many familiar songs as possible: all within the top 40, most within the top 10, and many #1's. Fourteen teams named all twenty five songs, and only minor admin errors kept the top nine teams from getting perfect scores on all twenty-seven songs (sorry, folks, I didn't write the rules)... Most of you likewise identified that the theme pattern we used was to select one song from each letter of the alphabet, omitting letter "X". I believe that, once the pattern was recognized, the quiz became that much easier.
