RESULTS & ANSWER KEY for Golden Oldies Lyrics Quiz #219 (GOLQ219)

Congratulations to REALLY ROCKIN' IN BOSTON and RANDY PRICE & PETER MORLEY who
tied for first place by each team identifying all 25 regular songs plus both
tiebreakers. THE COASTERS came next, missing only one song. THE VILLAGE IDIOTS
missed only three. JOHN FOX and MIKE WEAVER each got both tiebreakers.

I want to thank everyone who entered the quiz.

Bob Bluestein has already posted GOLQ 220.

#05) The Box Tops: Soul Deep (1969) [18] {-}

I'm gettin' closer to home

I coulda got...
#07) Bruce Channel: Mr. Bus Driver (1967) [90] {-}

     The entire line is: I coulda got a jet and flown
     I had expected more players to find Channel's unique
     voice familiar.

#08) The Chordettes: Zorro (1958) [17] {-}

     Should have added the sword swoosh, then more people
     might have pictured Guy Williams in his mask.

I may be young and I still go to school
#10) Fabian: I'm A Man (1959) [31] {-}

(na na na na na) c'mon baby na na na na na na na (na na na na na na na)
#16) Andy Kim: Baby, I Love You (1969) [9] {-}

     This scored pretty well, considering I couldn't find a clip
     of the song anywhere.

#17) Ramsey Lewis: One, Two, Three (1967) [67] {-}

Come in the water's fine
#18) The Music Explosion: Sunshine Games (1967) [63] {-}

(...3, 2, 1) Hey, get up everybody
We should be landin' soon
#T1) Gary (U.S.) Bonds: Trip To The Moon (1961) [-] {-}

     The flip side of "School Is In" (GOLQ130). Several entrants
     recognized Bond's voice, if not the song.

#T2) Poco: Pickin' Up The Pieces (1969) [-] {-}

     Title track from their first LP. I was pleasantly surprised that
     eight entrants knew this Richie Furay song.

number on the line denotes the average number of points scored on that song
