#number) Artist: Title (year[s]) [peak position on Pop chart] {peak R&B}

[-] = did not make pop chart
{-}   = did not make R&B chart

{n/c} = no Billboard R&B chart published during this recording's period of
        peak popularity
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

#01) Animals: "House of the Rising Sun" (1964) [1] {n/c}

#02) Beau Brummels: "You Tell Me Why" (1965) [38] {-}

#03) Clark, Claudine: "Party Lights" (1962) [5] {3}

#04) Corey, Jill: "Love Me To Pieces" (1957) [11] {-}

#05) Cramer, Floyd: "On The Rebound" (1961) [4] {16}

#07) Essex: "A Walkin' Miracle" (1963) [12] {11}

#08) Four Jacks And A Jill: "Mister Nico" (1968) [96] {-}

#09) Freddie And The Dreamers: "Do The Freddie" (1965) [18] {-}

    Freddie Garrity passed away during this quiz. Freddie's music was fun and
    the laugh heard in this clip is a fitting remembrance, as those who knew
    him said at his funeral that he was always the same, on and off the stage.
    He joins Major Lance, Carl Wilson, Doris Kenner of the Shirelles, and
    songwriters Curtis Mayfield and Felice Bryant, amongst others, as artists
    who died during a GOLQ featuring one of their songs or performances.

#10) Gore, Lesley: "She's A Fool" (1963) [5] {26}

#11) Husky, Ferlin: "Wings Of A Dove" (1960) [12] {-}

#12) Jay & The Americans: "Let's Lock The Door (And Throw Away The Key)"
                                                                (1964) [11] {n/c}

#13) Jones, Joe: "You Talk Too Much" (1960) [3] {9}

#14) Kramer, Billy J. With The Dakotas: "Trains And Boats And Planes"
                                                                (1965) [47] {-}
    One of the first of the major British-Invasion groups to disappear from
    the Top 30 charts, this was his last charted single.

#15) Lester, Ketty: "You Can't Lie To A Liar" (1962) [90] {-}

    The Searchers did an uncharted version of this.

#16) Lewis, Bobby: "Tossin' And Turnin'" (1961) [1] {1}

#17) Miller, Ned: "From A Jack To A King" (1962) [6] {-}

#18) 1910 Fruitgum Co.: "Special Delivery" (1969) [38] {-}

#19) Pitney, Gene: "That Girl Belongs To Yesterday" (1964) [49] {n/c}

    GenaTeam: Gene effectively had this song written for him by Mick Jagger
    and Keith Richard in 1963 and formed a friendship at that time that lasted
    until he died in Cardiff Wales just weeks ago. A loss to the pop music
    industry throughout the world. He toured here in Australia 13 times and
    was due back here in July this year. Gone but never forgotten.

#20) Pixies Three: "Birthday Party" (1963) [40] {-}

#21) Rivers, Johnny: "These Are Not My People" (1969) [55] {-}

    Written by Joe South, who wrote and produced most of fellow Georgian
    Billy Joe Royal's early hits.

#22) Sidekicks: "Suspicions" (1966) [55] {-}

#23) Stafford, Terry: "Suspicion" (1964) [3] {n/c}

#24) Strangeloves: "Night Time" (1966) [30] {-}

#25) Thompson, Sue: "Sad Movies (Make Me Cry)" (1961) [5] {-}

------------
Tie-breakers:
------------

#T1) McKuen, Rod: "Listen To The Warm" (1968) [-] {-}

    GenaTeam: Both tie breakers were written by Rod McKuen. One is on the LP
    LISTEN TO THE WARM by McKuen from 1967; the other is a concept album by
    McKuen and Anita Kerr performed by The San Sebastian Strings. At the
    time, McKuen said it was not necessary that you had to know him, but he is
    someone you would like to meet, soon after listening to the album called
    THE SEA.

#T2) San Sebastian Strings: "The Sea" (1967) [-] {-}

    This was the first of a series of similar-themed albums (THE EARTH,
    THE SKY, HOME TO THE SEA, THE SOFT SEA) that peaked at #20 on the album
    charts by 1969. The late Jesse Pearson was the voice for the "Sea"-titled
    LPs in the series, including this cut. He also played Conrad Birdie in
    BYE BYE BIRDIE. Rod was the voice for the others. Rod also had popular
    poetry and lyric books out at this time. As a poet, Rod could perhaps
    best be described as "commercially successful."
