RESULTS and ANSWER KEY for Golden Oldies Lyrics Quiz #253 (GOLQ253)

Seven teams identified all 25 songs in the main part of the quiz.
Congratulations to Randy Price & Peter Morley, and the Gypsy's Caravan,
each with a perfect 500++ score. The EJ's, Village Idiots, Delphi Trivia
Club, Ron Anderson, and Will McCorry also identified all 25, but minor
gliches on the tie breakers kept them from obtaining perfect scores.
Close behind were the Gena Team and Really Rockin' in Boston, having
missed just one or two.

Median score was 490, and mean was 407.

Thanks to all who entered!

Tom and Rick

Tie-Breakers
------------

I don't know why I love you like I do
Nobody in the world can get along with you
You got the ways of the devil sleeping in a lion's den
I came home last night, you wouldn't even let me in
#T1) Dylan, Bob: "You're No Good" (1962) [-] {-}

  From his first album. Written by Jesse Fuller, of "San Francisco Bay Blues"
  fame. I think the correct lyrics are actually "ways of A devil," vice "THE
  devil" but I didn't catch the error until after the quiz was released, but
  I doubt if it was a discriminator. If any of you who missed this one think
  that you would have gotten the correct answer if the word "a" was in there
  instead of "the," let me know and I'll make the adjustment.

A squirmin' dog who's just had her day
#T2) Shannon, Del: "Under My Thumb" (1966) [-] {-}

  Del's version was released on Liberty 55904. The original Rolling Stones
  version, written by them, was not eligible because a Stones song was already
  used in the main part of the quiz. Also, the Stones say, "THE squirmin' dog."
  That distinction being made, we also gave credit to entrants who responded
  with "The Who," a version that also qualifies.

The first column indicates the average number of points scored on that song
