RESULTS and ANSWER KEY for Golden Oldies Lyrics Quiz #258 (GOLQ258)

Nine teams identified all 25 songs in the main part of the quiz. Of those
nine, only the Village Idiots were able to attain a perfect score by
correctly identifying both tie breakers. Only other team to correctly
identify both tie breakers was Randy Price & Peter Morley, who narrowly
missed a perfect 500++ score.

Median score was 500 (!), and mean was 401.

Thanks to all who entered, especially those who only knew a few, but played
anyway for the fun of it!

Tom and Rick

Tie-Breakers
------------

And from your beam you made my dream
And from the world you sent my girl
#T1) Dr. Feelgood & the Interns: "Mister Moonlight" (1962) [-] {-}

Obscure B side of "Dr. Feel-Good" single from 1962, but noteworthy in that this
was the source from which the Beatles learned the song. Beatles is incorrect
answer for the artist because the Beatles have already been used in the main
part of the quiz and are therefore ineligible to appear in a tie-breaker. I
also credited "The Hollies," who recorded the song on their 1964 album, "Stay
With The Hollies."

Too bad he had to go
But there's pressure on me you know
No, it wasn't me that made him fall
You can't blame me at all
#T2)  Seeger, Pete: "Who Killed Davey Moore?" (1963) [-] {-}

This song, written by Bob Dylan, comes from Pete Seeger's 1963 historical
"We Shall Overcome" album recorded live at Carnegie Hall. His most famous
rendition of "Guantanamera" is also on the same album. Although Dylan wrote
the song, Pete sings the lyrics in the above verse slightly different from
the Bob Dylan version and thus Dylan, as well as Sebastian Cabot who does
a verbal reading using Dylan's exact lyrics, is unacceptable as the correct
artist for T2.
