#T1) Sonny Knight: "Permanently Lonely" (1964) [-] {n/c}

     From the LP IF YOU WANT THIS LOVE. Timi Yuro
     "bubbled under" with her version earlier that year.
     Knight had assisted Yuro in her singing career.
     It was written by Willie Nelson, who first recorded
     the song on his 1969 album GOOD TIMES. I had expected
     Nelson or Yuro fans to at least recognize the song.

     Knight wrote a novel originally published in 1981
     entitled "The Day The Music Died" under his real name
     (Joseph C. Smith). It is a caustic yet entertaining
     story about the U.S. record industry that takes place
     between June, 1956 and December, 1963.

And I ran home last night
To get my dinner hot
And I pulled on the door
To find the door was locked
And I jumped through my window
And believe it or not
She had not even put my dinner
Into the pot
#T2) The Lovin' Spoonful: "On The Road Again" (1965) [-] {-}

     This was the flip side of "Do You Believe In Magic",
     although I actually got it off the LP of the same name.
     It was written by John Sebastian.

     As Mike Weaver noticed, I was being a bit clever with the
     tiebreakers although didn't see it as enough to call
     it a theme. Willie Nelson wrote "Permanently Lonely" and
     also had a hit in 1980 with his own song entitled
     "On The Road Again".

This chart ranks the songs/artists from most to least recognized. The second
number on the line denotes the average number of points scored on that song
(total points divided by number of entrants, to 1 decimal place). For
comparison purposes, tie-breakers are scored here on the usual 20-point scale.
