RESULTS and ANSWER KEY for Golden Oldies Lyrics Quiz #342 (GOLQ342)

Congratulations to our THREE co-winners, each with perfect scores:
The Coasters, Mike Weaver, and Will McCorry. Kudos also to the seven
other teams that identified all 25 songs in the main part of the quiz.

All entrants recognized that every song was written all, or in part
(with Gerry Goffin), by Carole King, except #23, which was written by
Neil Sedaka ABOUT Carole King. The high scoring was evidence that knowing
this theme went a long way to recognizing even the stumpers. Ironically,
the song in the quiz that proved to be the biggest stumper was #T2,
which was sung by Carole herself! A YouTube link is provided at #T2.

As always, thanks to everyone who entered! Mike Weaver has already
posted GOLQ343.

GOLDEN OLDIES LYRICS QUIZ #334 ANSWERS:
Answers are in the form:

#number) Artist: "Title" (chart year) [peak Pop] {peak R&B} <xxx>...<yyy>
where:
"peak Pop" = Peak position achieved on the weekly Billboard Pop chart.
"peak R&B" = Peak position on the weekly Billboard Rhythm & Blues chart.
(Billboard didn't publish an R&B chart between 11/30/63 and 1/23/65,
so recordings in that interval show peak R&B of {n/c} ("no chart").)
"xxx",...,"yyy" = prior GOLQ(s) in which the song appeared, if any.

Tom unsolicited comment: IMHO, this has to be one of the worst songs ever...
Sounds like The Monkees and King/Goffin were created a cheap knock-off
imitation of the Beatles, merging "Strawverry Feields Forever," Lucy In
The Sky With Diamonds," and "The Walrus."

I want to be your lover
But your friend is all I stay
