RESULTS & ANSWER KEY for Golden Oldies Lyrics Quiz #384 (GOLQ384)

"Congratulations" to Really Rockin' In Boston and the Delphi Trivia Club, the
only two teams to submit a perfect score AND identify the bonus tie-breaker
theme: The first letter in the title of each song spells out: "Elvis Is
Eighty Four on Jan Eight." Amazingly, Rich Ardini from Really Rockin' emailed
me the correct theme within hours after the quiz was published. I thought I
had come up with an innovative theme, but while I was researching and verifying
the eligibility of my songs, I inadvertently discovered that Barry Silk had
created a similar Elvis theme in 1996 for GOLQ 90, three years before I
discovered the GOLQ on the Internet. Congratulations also to The EJ's & Co.
and Village Idiots, both having perfect scores, and to Vito & the Salutations
who came very close to a perfect score.

As always, thanks to everyone who entered! Rich Ardini has posted GOLQ 385.

GOLDEN OLDIES LYRICS QUIZ #384 ANSWERS:
Answers are in the form:

#number) Artist: "Title" (chart year) [peak Pop] {peak R&B} <xxx>...<yyy>
where:
"peak Pop" = Peak position achieved on the weekly Billboard Pop chart.
"peak R&B" = Peak position on the weekly Billboard Rhythm & Blues chart.
(Billboard didn't publish an R&B chart between 11/30/63 and 1/23/65,
so recordings in that interval show peak R&B of {n/c} ("no chart").)
"xxx",...,"yyy" = prior GOLQ(s) in which the song appeared, if any.

Lee in 1959. I was totally unfamiliar with the song until I heard and liked
John Lennon's nostalgic tribute cover of it on his 1975 "Rock 'N Roll" album,
and researched his source. John Lennon: "There's two basses in this; I hope
you appreciate it." "This is Dr. Winston O'Boogie...." "I'd like to say hi to
Ringo, Paul, and George.... How are you?"

performance of Elvis, in August 1955, about six months before he first hit the
Billboard charts with "Heartbreak Hotel." Video starts with an interesting
story about how the video was discovered and preserved. Actual performance
starts about the 18 minute mark...no audio, just video of Elvis at age 20,
playing for a crowd of about 25
