RESULTS & ANSWER KEY for Golden Oldies Lyrics Quiz #464 (GOLQ464)
Congratulations to Randy Price, Really Rockin' In Boston, and the Village
Idiots, all with perfect scores. RP and RR also got the theme, which was that
all 27 songs debuted on the Billboard Top 100 / Hot 100 charts in the month of
September. And what did the theme have to do with me? You could say I debuted
in September as well, it being my birth month.
I picked the songs by randomly leafing through my copy of Whitburn, looking
for September debuts and trying to come up with songs that weren't too obscure.
One thing I noticed was that there didn't seem to be as many September debuts
as there were for other months, although I could be wrong. Also, for songs
that had been used before, I tried to use lyrics that hadn't been previously
used. For some songs that had been used multiple times, that took a bit of
doing.
