RESULTS & ANSWER KEY for Golden Oldies Lyrics Quiz #468 (GOLQ468)
On my first quiz, I had only one perfect entry. On this one, I had 5. The teams
that got all 25 regular songs correct but weren't perfect, had trouble with the
tie-breakers. So I was too tough the first time around and too easy this time.
I will have to find a happy medium. All I can tell you is not to expect me to
be this nice again, lol. Randy Price, Team Teitellion, Really Rockin',
Village Idiots, and Tri-State aced the quiz so congrats!

Loved this follow up to "Incense and Peppermints". If you don't count anything

It took him 8 tries after "I'm So Lonesome, I Could Cry" to hit top 20 again
with "Hooked On A Feeling" (the version with no "Ooga Chakkas").

Must have not gotten a lot of airplay out of town but in heavy rotation on NYC
stations. Did you know there was another group with the same name that had a
number 91 song in 1959 called "Furry Murray"? Did you also know their follow up
"Mind Excursion" was banned as stations were refusing to play songs glorifying
drug use? And finally, did you know they changed their name to The Innocence
after that?

The first African-American game show host: "Musical Chairs" in 1975. There's a
clip on YouTube (the quality is rather poor) and it looked like an enjoyable
Name That Tune kind of show with musical performances by Adam and guest artists.
The guests on the YouTube clip are the Spinners.

If you heard this, I apologize, but like to share this story. Jackie said to
Elvis, "I love the way you sweat when you sing. It drives the ladies crazy".
Elvis said, "I take salt pills before I go on. They work great." Jackie said,
"I've got to try that". If you have been diagnosed with high blood pressure,
you know to avoid salt. Jackie didn't know he had high BP and of course, taking
salt resulted in his heart attack which made him collapse while performing.
Elvis apparently didn't have a BP problem.
