RESULTS & ANSWER KEY for Golden Oldies Lyrics Quiz #470 (GOLQ470)

There was a three-way tie for first place. Congratulations to Tri-State Trivia

broad theme was travel with a geographic name in every song, artist or lyrics.
The average score was 451. Nine songs were identified by all teams. Teams that
submitted Puzzler answers are Barry Silk, Randy Price, Team Teitellion and
Will McCorry. The complete Puzzler solution is below. And thanks to Bob
Bluestein for continuing to provide these puzzlers. Thanks to everyone who
entered. GOLQ #471 will be posted soon, if not already.

GOLDEN OLDIES LYRICS QUIZ #470 ANSWERS:
Answers are in the form:

#number) Artist: "Title" (chart year) [peak Pop] {peak R&B} <xxx>...<yyy>
where:
"peak Pop" = Peak position achieved on the weekly Billboard Pop chart.
"peak R&B" = Peak position on the weekly Billboard Rhythm & Blues chart.
(Billboard didn't publish an R&B chart between 11/30/63 and 1/23/65,
so recordings in that interval show peak R&B of {n/c} ("no chart").)
"xxx",...,"yyy" = prior GOLQ(s) in which the song appeared, if any.

#16) Lovin' Spoonful, The: "Never Going Back" (1968) [73] {-} <126><284>

QM: After John Sebastian left for a solo career, Kama Sutra let drummer Joe
Butler record essentially a solo album "Revelation : Revolution '69" credited
to the Lovin' Spoonful featuring Joe Butler. The remaining band members were
not involved. This song was one of two single releases from the album.
It was written by John Stewart (ex-Kingston Trio). It is likely a song that
received more airplay on Boston radio than other cities. I liked Joe's voice
on the few songs that he sang lead in the original group.
On this album, besides this song, I liked his version of "Me About You".
