(And also to Golden Oldies Lyrics Quiz #80.) After the 25 regular songs, there will be 2 tie-breakers. These 2 songs will not be in the alphabetical mix with the other 25 but will be alphabetized with respect to one another. What these 2 songs have in common is that they do not fit the eligibility requirements for inclusion in the regular part of the quiz: either they were released prior to 1955 or else they were released between 1955 & 1969 but did not hit the Top 100 on the Pop charts for the specific artist. There has been no change to the General Rules. The best of luck to all! - T P Uschanov Answers must be received by 5:00 PM EDT on Tuesday, August 22, 1995. Try to e-mail early since I don't know how long it takes to get there. E-mail (DO NOT POST) answers to: uschanov@cc.joensuu.fi I will acknowledge receipt of entries via e-mail. _______________________________________________________________________________ Golden Oldies Lyrics Quiz #80 Song #s 1-25 were from 1957 through 1969 Due 5:00 PM EDT, Tuesday, August 22, 1995 _______________________________________________________________________________ Ah, I love the colorful clothes she wears And the way the sunlight plays upon her hair #01) As the trees reach for the sun above So my arms reach out to you for love With your hand resting in mine I feel a power so divine #02) And if it came about A life would be success I'd run around and have a ball And never go to school at all #03) And my dear mother left me when I was quite young, when I was quite young And my dear mother left me when I was quite young, when I was quite young She said, "Lord have mercy on my wicked son" #04) We may stop lovin' To watch Bugs Bunny But he can't take the Place of my hon-ney #05) She packed up her bags and she moved out on the midnight train Got no brain She packed up her bag and she moved out on the midnight train The girl's insane #06) You should have seen the look in her eye I had to tell her some little white lies I know I haven't been so true to you I know I haven't been so true to you Don't you cry, don't you cry, don't you cry no more Ain't gonna be the way I was before #07) If tin whistles are made of tin What do they make foghorns out of? #08) I can't help it If that doggone moonglow Makes me need someone like you To love #09) Come Friday 'noon, about-a half past three Drop my books and my misery Stroll up and down to the soda shop Drop a coin in the old juke box Lookin' all around, what did I see?
