Subject: Golden Oldies Lyrics Quiz 215 (GOLQ215) From: Regina Litman <golq215@golq.org> Date: 4 Dec 2004 05:20:25 -0000 Message-ID: <20041204052025.80966.qmail@nezumi.pair.com> GOLDEN OLDIES LYRICS QUIZ #215 (GOLQ215) Welcome to GOLQ 215. I've been participating in these for several years now, first as part of Gypsy's Caravan and now as part of The Coasters. So I decided to try my hand at creating a GOLQ of my own. It's fitting that I should be doing GOLQ215. Despite the proliferation of new area codes in the Philadelphia area, 215 is still where my phone is located. And since my first GOLQ was GOLQ108, GOLQ215 marks the point at which there have now been more GOLQs since I began than before I started to participate. There is a very esoteric theme to this one that I don't expect anyone to figure out. You may notice that some of the songs in this quiz share writers. And that while I have adhered to the rule that no act may appear more than once, some of the songs in this quiz have also been recorded in charting versions by other acts who have an entry here in addition to the one who is the correct answer. These songs, including the tie-breakers, run the full range of the 1955- 1969 timespan, with at least one 1955 chart entry and at least one from 1969. There is, however, a 1960s emphasis due to my greater familiarity with this decade. I don't feel as guilty as I did when I first realized this because the very first quiz in which I participated, GOLQ108, had NO entries before 1964! Have fun, and have a great holiday season! Regina Litman ============================================================================ Blindly searching for lyrics on the Internet is not in the spirit of the GOLQs, and we disapprove of this practice.
