GOLDEN OLDIES LYRICS QUIZ #467 (GOLQ467)
Welcome to GOLQ467! There are two themes to this quiz. They are somewhat
related. Each song, including the tie-breakers, fits one of the themes. For
the theme with more songs, some fit the theme for either the artist or the
songwriter. If the artist is a group, only one group member needs to fit the
theme. For the other theme, it's the artist that fits the theme.

Golden Oldies Lyrics Quiz #467
Recordings #01-25 were from 1955 through 1969
Due 5:00 PM EST (GMT-5) on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hold me in your arms, baby
Squeeze me oh so tight, show me
That you love me too
#01)
Talkin' 'bout your troubles
And ya, ya never learn
Ride a painted pony
#02)
By the summer it was healing
We had said goodbye
All the years we'd spent with feeling
Ended with a cry
#03)
And you leave me
A broken heart that's full of tears
These ain't raindrops in my eyes
#04)
Moons and Junes and Ferris wheels
The dizzy dancing way you feel
When every fairy tale comes real
I've looked at love that way
#05)
Honey don't care 'bout the money
I spent for the presents I buy
She just wants a honey
#06)
Rock and roll-oll-oll-ollin'
#07)
And if you want to ride it
Got to ride it like you find it
Get your ticket at the station
#08)
The New Year's Eve we did the town
The day we tore the goalpost down
#09)
This heart
Could not accept and pretend
#10)
And she feeds you tea and oranges
That come all the way from China
And just when you mean to tell her
That you have no love to give her
#11)
You're the one who made my dreams come true
A few
Kisses ago
#12)
You should go where the lights are bright
And make all the scenes and stay out all night
And have no fear
Girl I'll be right here
#13)
He's got everybody here
#14)
If I go back where we parted
Could I ever feel like that again
Guess I'll just have to wait 'til tomorrow
But what can I do 'til then
#15)
Zal and Denny
Workin' for a penny
#16)
Ooh, what he does, what he does
To my heart when he holds me
Ooh, how I love when he whispers in my ear
It is love
#17)
She's wise
Like an angel's wise
With eyes
Like an angel's eyes
#18)
Now there you go
You're cryin' again
Now there you go
You're cryin' again
But then some day when your poor heart is on the mend
I just might pass this way again
#19)
Got a rovin' eye
And that is why she satisfies my soul
Got the one and only walkin' talkin'
#20)
Crazy Chester followed me
And he caught me in the bar
Said I will fix your rack
If you take Jack my dog
#21)
And I dare not drown my sorrow
In the warm glow of your wine
You can't buy my love with money
For I never was that kind
#22)
I like smoke and lightnin'
Heavy metal thunder
Racin' with the wind
And the feelin' that I'm under
#23)
I got troubled, whoa-oh
I got worried, whoa-oh
I came home again
#24)
Who's just in love
So much in love
So crazy in love
#25)
------------
Tie-Breakers
------------
The search goes on in dollars
And the work goes on for dimes
The young ones chase the rainbows
Old folks think of younger times
You'll never catch a rainbow
But love may come to you
Hold it close, don't let it fade
You're a loser if you do
#T1)
Oh, you'll be a big tycoon
Make a lot of money
Real soon
Make a lot of money
Just you wait
You'll turn out great
New York town
Upside down
#T2)
