GOLDEN OLDIES LYRICS QUIZ #474 (GOLQ474)

Hello all, and welcome to GOLQ 474.

There is a theme that connects all 27 songs. This theme will be easy
to figure out, especially once you identify two or three of the
entries. A couple of hints: consider this as Part II of a theme that
has been used before; also, the tie-breakers are both bubbling-under songs.

Enjoy!

                       Golden Oldies Lyrics Quiz
               Recordings #01-25 were from 1956 through 1969
             Due 5:00 P.M. EDT (GMT-4) on Friday, July 31, 2026
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

We'll go strolling
Through the park
And I'll caress you
Somewhere in the dark
#01)

Lord I got to raise a fuss
Lord I got to raise a holler
#02)

'Twas so good to be young then
In the season of plenty
When the catfish were jumpin'
As high as the sky
#03)

Surfin' every day down at Malibu
'Neath the warm California sun
No more books, no more homework to do now
#04)

In my arms
With all your charms
'Neath stars above
And we'll make love
#05)

The early morning hike
The rented tandem bike
The lunches that we used to pack
#06)

When there's magic in the air
And I don't have a care
All that matters to me
Is that you are here
#07)

The castles we built
On secluded beaches
#08)

The air is sweet
The breeze is mellow
And every couple on the street
Is holding hands
#09)

When we meet our hearts entwine
It's the greatest
#10)

The taxman's taken all my dough
And left me in my stately home
#11)

Girl I want will be all for
Loving in and out of door
#12)

There are no gloomy skies
When seen through the eyes
Of those who are blessed with love
#13)

All around, people lookin' half dead
Walkin' on the sidewalk
Hotter than a match head
#14)

Didn't that careless moon
Forget to find us?
Didn't the month of June
Fail utterly to remind us
#15)

Time was passing by, the shadows fell
I never noticed when the rain stopped
#16)

Where do they go
When winter comes
Their promises are gone
And still they linger on
#17)

It lingered there
To touch your hair
And walk with me
#18)

You're the one I've been waiting for
Take me down to the sandy shore
#19)

I got myself a date
Lots of swingin' parties and having fun
I think I'm gonna stay out late
#20)

Strawberries, cherries
And an angel's kiss in spring
#21)

Boop-Boop-A-Boop-Boop
When I want to
Out of school
#22)

Gazin' at the sea
Then I smiled your way
And you smiled at me
#23)

The whisper of the sea
Echoing your name
The soothing ocean breeze
That set my heart aflame
#24)

Well, surf boards, extension cords
French fries and pizza pies
#25)

------------
Tie-Breakers
------------

Hey there girls, where you goin'?
(Down to the beach, thats where we're goin')
Hey there girls, whatcha gonna do?
#T1)

Cat is sleeping in the sun
Eyes take heed, the colors call
Sunlight patterns touch the wall
Red kerchiefs sail and fall
Cat is sleeping in the sun
#T2)
