Subject: Golden Oldies Lyrics Quiz 221 (GOLQ221) From: Regina Litman <golq221@golq.org> Message-ID: <20050609044101.4723.qmail@nezumi.pair.com> Date: 9 Jun 2005 04:41:01 -0000 GOLDEN OLDIES LYRICS QUIZ #221 (GOLQ221) Welcome to GOLQ221. All 27 songs are connected by a theme that shouldn't be too hard to figure out. I put this together in a short time, so the selections no doubt reflect the music with which I am most familiar. I consider this to be a relatively easy quiz, even with some genres and time periods omitted. However, since this is coming out late, that should make your work easier. The timespan for these songs, including the tie-breakers, is from 1957 through 1969. There is a 1960s emphasis due to my greater familiarity with this decade. I had identified some additional 1950s songs for possible inclusion, but some had been used too recently in other GOLQs for inclusion on this one, others turned out to have not charted on the Hot 100 (or, in at least one instance, turned out to be from prior to 1955), and for others, I couldn't locate proof that lyrics with which I am familiar from remakes were in these versions. Have fun, and I hope your summer gets off to a great start!
