GOLDEN OLDIES LYRICS QUIZ #470 (GOLQ470)

Welcome to GOLQ470, a special anniversary for me as we continue on this GOLQ
QuizMaster Retirement Tour. Thirty years ago this month, I entered my first
GOLQ. And just about every team that is still participating now also entered
that quiz. The Tour hopes to make it to my next milestone, 33 1/3 years with
the GOLQ. And right now, the Tour is considering what places to travel to and
how to get to them. And so, since this is my party, I am using my favorite
theme, now much overused. It is a broad theme that connects all 27 songs. I
believe the quiz is average in difficulty. But it includes a few lesser known
songs that likely received much more airplay in the Boston area I grew up in
than elsewhere. Both tie-breakers made the Bubbling Under charts.
And once again, Bob Bluestein has contributed a puzzler for your amusement and
enjoyment.
Good luck and enjoy!

She must be givin' 'em quite a thrill
The way they flock to her door
She throws those come-hither glances
At every Tom, Dick and Joe
#01)

Finally made the plane into Paris
Honeymoonin' down by the Seine

But what happens when the statue on the pedestal
Comes crumblin' to the ground
I don't want to be around
To see the sorrow on her face
When she thinks I let her down

Angels sing, leather wing
Jeans of blue, Harley Davidsons too

He's drivin' in tonight from California
He loves his damn ol' rodeo, as much as he loves me

It might have been in County Down
Or in New York, in gay Paree, or even London Town

I was there to steal her money
Take her rings and run
Then I fell in love with the lady
And got away with none

Isn't he silly and doesn't he talk like a child

Now if you're ever in Houston, boy
Well, you better do it right
Hey, you better not gamble, boy
And you better not fight

Some people go to school
To try to learn how to teach

Be sure you preach and teach the golden rule

All I had was hangin' on my back

And never the twain shall meet
Each morning I face her window
And pray that our love can be

Submission of an entry for this section is optional. Your participation
or performance has no bearing whatsoever on your quiz score or ranking.

The 25 clues below are titles of '55-'69 top 20 pop singles which take
their own wordings much too literally. Spacing, punctuation, and
capitalization may be deceptive. For example,

   A Breakin' Brand New Earth

would be a reworking of Connie Francis'

Breakin' In A Brand New Broken Heart

where the word "Breakin'" is placed 'in' "A Brand New" and the word
"Heart" is 'broken' (i.e., mixed-up).

Your task is to solve these 25 reworked singles' titles:

01) Think Think
02) Me At Look
03) Lettearster
04) The The Hunter Game
05) Him I
06) Slee
07) Something I'm Good
08) LOL Eh
09) DNA Revo
10) ILooking'm
11) Chanted Even
12) Call Mr. Me

19) So Evil
20) Lal
21) Ym Hctarcs Ybab
22) Rusuen
23) Shea Mover's
