GOLDEN OLDIES LYRICS QUIZ #260 (GOLQ260)

Welcome to Golden Oldies Lyrics Quiz #260.

This is a 'retro' quiz for me, with lyrics instead of sound. One difference
-- all songs were Ipod-chosen. From a random playlist of 9251 GOLQ-eligible
songs, each song played was added in order as long as it was 'GOLQ-friendly'
(not pointlessly obscure) and it didn't skew the quiz too much (too many
from one year or too many outside the Top 25, etc.) The results will be
interesting to me.

Good luck to all!

I study the small things
You do constantly
I memorize moments that I'm fondest of
#01)

So everyone can see
That you belong to me
Just me
#02)

When I look in her eyes
She goes with me to a blossom world
#03)

Must be the way she walks
A style made up to capture all she needs
No time to spend on this talk
#04)

He's got them pounding on the door
Got 'em begging for some more
And they call him whatever they choose
#05)

Room gets suddenly still
And when you'd almost bet
You could hear yourself sweat
#06)

Drove through the town
Drove through the country
Showed them how a motor can go
#07)

All alone in my room
All alone and so sad
I can dream of how I wanted us to be
Dreams I have are kinder that you could ever be
#08)

No, no, no, no, no, no, no,
No, no, no, no, no, no
Everybody knows
I thought you knew
#09)

No other sound is quite the same as your name
No touch can do half as much
#10)

With a song in my heart
And a chance to be yours forever
I couldn't feel more secure
I know I couldn't feel any better
#11)

Sister helped to trim the sail
#12)

I went down the road
The road was muddy
I stubbed my toe
My toe was a-hurtin'
#13)

It's not very cherry
It's an oldie but a goodie
#14)

We'll have a ball when a-school is through
I'll find a million things that we can do
At the beach, we'll have a real good time
I'll show you off 'cause you're mine, all mine
#15)

Looking like a fool
Left behind by you
There was I
#16)

Outside I'm masquerading
Inside my hope is fading
#17)

Whenever you are all alone
Need some company
You always turn to me
#18)

How'd you like to be a star?
You're a girl that could go far
'Specially dressed the way you are
#19)

Twist it
Shake it, shake it, shake it, shake it baby
Here we go loop-de-loop
#20)

There's never any place we ever want to go
We'd rather snuggle up and watch the late, late show
We like to make the hours last
But forty-eight hours go fast
#21)

'Cause I got my pride
Old kid's gonna hold his head up high
Nothin' like you and me
Victims of poverty
#22)

You play the same love song
It's the tenth time you've heard it
That's the beginning
Just one of the clues
#23)

'Til that time has come
That we might live as one
Can I dance with you?
#24)

Once I was alone
So lonely and then
You came, out of nowhere
Like the sun up from the hills
#25)

------------
Tie-Breakers
------------

The first time I was ever kissed
The very first person I did miss
The first time I said goodbye
The first time I felt I'd die
The first time I felt shame
The first time I was to blame
If I had one wish I'd ask to relive
#T1)

Someday, when you're older
And your future has passed
You will find that your beauty
And your loveliness won't last
When the traces of time
Show in every line
#T2)
