GOLDEN OLDIES LYRICS QUIZ #271 (GOLQ271)

Welcome to GOLQ271. There is no theme in this quiz, but some of the songs
and artists have things in common with other songs and artists. One of the
tie-breakers was written and performed live before the end of 1969, but it
may not have been released by anyone until after 1969.

Enjoy!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jiminy crickets Jiminy jack
You make my heart go clickety-clack
#01)

When I'm home
Everything seems to be ri-ight
When I'm home
Feeling you holding me tight, tight, yeah
#02)

3-4-5
Look at him jive
#03)

As it skims along with a happy sound
As it goes along the ground, ground, ground
Til it leads you to the one you love
#04)

Calling all angels!
Calling all angels!
Calling all angels!
#05)

You can cry-y-y-y-y
You will ha ha ha ha ha
You'll be wonderin' why I don't look at you
When I go rollin' by
#06)

Tonight with words unspoken
You said that I'm the only one
But will my heart be broken
When the night meets the morning sun
#07)

Her lips look inviting it's true
But lots of other guys have felt like you do
She'll build up your hopes and when you need her the most
That's when she'll say goodbye to you
#08)

Well listen little girl (listen little girl)
You know you twist so fine (you know you twist so fine)
Come on and twist a little closer (come on and twist a little closer girl)
Come on and show me that you're mine (come on and show me you're mine)
#09)

What should I write?
What can I say?
How can I tell you how much I miss you?
#10)

Like a kid behind a wheel
You've been reckless with my heart
If I stay around
You'll surely tear it all apart
#11)

I shuffle to the left
I shuffle to the right
Gonna rock and roll til the early, early night
#12)

You know I mean it from the bottom of my
Boogity-boogity-boogity shoo
#13)

She'd play around and tease me
With her carefree devil eyes
She'd hold me close and kiss me
But her heart was full of lies
#14)

You have won all my money and my brand new Cadillac
#15)

Hey baby
I ain't askin' much of you
No no no no no no no no baby
I ain't askin' much of you
#16)

I-I-I would be so happy
Knowing he was mine (yeah yeah yeah) all the time
And I-I-I could make him happy
I would treat him good, yes I would
#17)

Set right down
Baby let your hair hang down
#18)

I didn't know if it was day or night
I started kissin' everything in sight
But when I kissed that cop down at 34th and Vine
#19)

Well the little stars were the herring fish
That lived in the beautiful sea
Now cast your nets wherever you wish
Never a'feared are we
#20)

It doesn't matter what they say
I know I'm gonna love you any old way
What can I do
#21)

So-o goodbye
I'll be leavin'
I see no sense
In this cryin' and grievin'
We'll both live a lot longer
If you live without me
#22)

Let's meet at the school at three
She said hey baby there's a-one thing more
Our school is over at half past four
#23)

They tried, tried, tried
They dropped things on his back
They lied, lied, lied, lied, lied
#24)

If man is still alive
If woman can survive
They may find
#25)

------------
Tie-Breakers
------------

We are stardust
Billion-year-old carbon
We are golden
Caught in the devil's bargain
And we've got to get ourselves back to the garden
#T1)

The work's never done
There's always something new
The files in your head
You take them to bed
You're never ever through
And they've been working all day, all day, all day
#T2)
