GOLDEN OLDIES LYRICS QUIZ #282 (GOLQ282)

Welcome to GOLQ282! All 25 songs and the two tie breakers are linked
together with one of two easily identifiable and related themes. Many of
the more well-known songs we intended to use turned out to be ineligible
due to the re-use rule. Consequently, in order to find eligible songs that
fit the main theme, we had to settle for a number of "stumpers," but they
should be easier to identify once the themes are determined.

Enjoy!

             Due 5:00 p.m. EDT (GMT-4), Saturday, July 31, 2010
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

My daughter didn't listen
I told her you're a clown
She should've taken my advice
She should've shopped around
#01)

Well, you treat me just like dirt
And you think that it doesn't hurt
You say I look so funny
Every time you put me down
#02)

He's a clown, that
#03)

And I'm as happy as a clown
With my two fists of iron
But I'm goin' nowhere
#04)

Your daddy told you long ago
Not to come in late no more
Running over town just like a clown
#05)

You've got me jumping
Like a crazy clown
#06)

His girl just walked away
And to this very day he says
He never loved her anyway
#07)

He plays a winning part while memories crush his heart
Yet he goes on laughing like a clown
#08)

Time after time
I have tried to say goodbye to you
But somehow when I try to leave you
I just can't go, I love you so
#09)

Now when I ask for some money
To go out on the town
I want you to hand it to me smiling
And don't you be no clown
#10)

Make way for the fool hearted clown
#11)

I suppose that the number
Is far from being small
#12)

There were clowns and elephants and dancing bears
#13)

The man of a thousand voices talking perfectly loud
#14)

When he looked around he saw a clown
And the clown seemed very gay
#15)

After all you`ve done to me
The times you`ve turned me down
I still will be your clown
#16)

You taught me how to love
And now you say that we are through
#17)

Can`t let you know,
I love you so,
You love someone else, so on with the show
#18)

Gather round all you clowns
#19)

Who knows where the road will lead us
Only a fool would say
#20)

Clouds and clowns
You don't have to come down
#21)

Be-bop and jive
Rock and roll
Come on everybody let's do the stroll
#22)

We live in a world
Of carnivals and clowns
And buildings to the sky
That make us want to fly
#23)

Like a clown
Don't let your heart break down
Yeah
#24)

They're saying I am just your clown
And any fool could see
That you're just having fun
And you're not in love with me
#25)

------------
Tie-Breakers
------------

Although I laugh and I act like a clown
#T1)

It's just a ragged clown behind
I wouldn't pay it any mind
#T2)
