GOLDEN OLDIES LYRICS QUIZ #375 (GOLQ375)

Welcome to GOLQ 375, this is my first quiz in almost seven years.
This quiz has two related themes, you might say they go hand-in-glove.
All songs fit into one of the two themes, some songs may fit both.
Like recent themed quizzes, there are a mixture of both well-known and
obscure songs.

Enjoy!
Rich

                       Golden Oldies Lyrics Quiz #375
               Recordings #01-25 were from 1956 through 1969
          Due 5:00 p.m. EDT (GMT-4) on Monday, April 30, 2018
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

La da da da da da (sing me, sing me baby)
La da da da da da
We'll make the winter springtime
#01)

Wonder if he'll feed them this time next spring
Listenin' to the children play,
Reminds him of, of the days,
Many years ago
#02)

I-I can root for the Yankees from the bleachers,
And don't have to worry about teachers
#03)

Now when I get home, the wife is mad
The little girl, she's feeling bad
Little junior, he's got the blues
Says he needs a pair of baseball shoes
#04)

He would marry her next spring
Saved his money, bought a ring
Then one day, a movie scout
Came to town to take her out
#05)

She's one of those girls who seems to come in the spring
One look in her eyes and you'll forget everything
You had ready to say
#06)

Always runnin', never carin', that's the life you live
Stolen minutes of your time were all you had to give
#07)

It's a city where a man
Can fulfill his dreams
The only town that's left
That's got three baseball teams
#08)

Was in the spring
Then spring became the summer
Who'd have believed you'd come along
#09)

And I had Mickey Mantle
Ridin' on a camel
Through the rains
Down in Death Valley
#10)

He remembers his first haircut
His kindergarten teacher
The batting average of every major league baseball player
And all the words of all the current songs
#11)

Spring was never waiting for us, girl
#12)

Hey, Boo-Boo!
#13)

Love, like a mountain springtime
Flashing through the rivers of my mind
It's what I feel for you
(Armadillo)
#14)

She kissed me yesterday, hello ya silver linin'
Got spring and summer running through me
#15)

Young leaves, that the wind blows
Yes, it's springtime, golden sunshine
#16)

Oh I'd sacrifice most anything
To win his many charms
I'd like to be a fly ball
And pop right in his arms
#17)

You know you're cheatin', (baby)
Fakin' the bout
You know you're balking, baby (oh yeah)
Strike three, you're out
#18)

I can only give you country walks in springtime
And a hand to hold when leaves begin to fall
#19)

I keep you warm in the winter
Give you cool, cool kisses in the summertime
Walk by your side, in the autumn
And in the spring, bells will chime
#20)

After winter comes the spring
So I'll keep this smile awhile
And see what tomorrow brings
#21)

I was walking down the road that went nowhere
Building dreams that were all left by the wayside
Then out of the blue
#22)

I got flowers
In the spring
#23)

Run where it's foul
Run where it's fair
No matter where I run
I meet myself there
#24)

Walk, walk
But you never get away
#25)

------------
Tie-Breakers
-------------

I go to Coney, the beach is divine
I go to ball games, the bleachers are fine
I follow Winchell and read every line
#T1)

Adieu, Francoise, it's hard to die
When all the birds are singing in the sky
Now that the spring is in the air
With your lovers everywhere
Just be careful, I'll be there
All our lives, we had fun
#T2)
