Welcome to GOLQ 384! All 27 songs in the quiz contribute to a central theme.
In order to maintain integrity of the theme within the GOLQ rule limitations,
I had to include a couple of real stumpers (at least I think they are stumpers)
and several songs that have already been used many times, though I have not
repeated any previously used lyrics. In case of multiple entrants submitting
perfect scores, including both tie breakers, I will use theme identification as
a second tie breaker, so if you recognize the theme, please identify it in your

Had me a girl
Yes, I really loved her
Every night
When I was thinking of her
I'm in heaven in your embrace
See the glow of your angel face
Heaven sings, heaven rings
On your wings we will fly away
If you do
I promise that I always will be true
In this world
I lock out all my worries and my fears
And all I have to do is think of her
Your golden sun will shine for me
Hail, hail rock and roll
Deliver me from the days of old
Long live rock and roll
And these arms will stay this way
Til you return to them some day
Your smiles, your frowns
Your ups, your downs
Are second nature to me now
Up at Cody's camp I spent my days, oh
With flat car riders and cross tie walkers
Raise your hand up high
High up in the air
When I touch your fingers
Don't you be no square
The lock upon my garden gate's a snail
That's what it is
Oh, well, I'm
Sitting here la la
(Tonight) I'll spend my bread
(Tonight) I'll lose my head
(Tonight) I got to get tonight
Sweetie Pie
Before you say goodbye
Remember if he ever leaves you high and dry
But we all fail to realize that
What goes up must come down
And you've got to reap just what you sow
And her little brother Max
Bought a new tenor sax
And man, can he blow that horn
I'll be here
One day I'll hold you near
Whisper I still love you
Until that day is here
I'm cryin'
Never ever be
Just couldn't be
Do you think that I will sit and cry
Even if my heart should tell me so
Darling I would rather let you go
It is the evening of the day
I sit and watch the children play
All passengers holding tickets please proceed to boarding area number five
You got a thing about you
I just can't live without you
I really want you
Each tear I dried for you
The closer our lives grew
I fell in love, it's true
And you say you love me, too
When I woke up this mornin'
She was gone
Solid gone

Here comes that old ache within
The story of our life begins
They're playing it again
One by one the stars appear
They twinkle in your eyes
Who'd believe that we'd be here
So near to paradise
