GOLDEN OLDIES LYRICS QUIZ #395 (GOLQ395)

Welcome to GOLQ 395.

When I was in London recently, I took the all-day Monsters of Rock Tour, which
explored the rock history of London and featured many sites relevant to 50s and
60s artists, both English and American. It was a great tour, I recommend it to
all.

There is a theme to this month's quiz, somewhat related to my trip, but perhaps
more of a trivia answer than something obvious if all the songs are identified.

All 27 songs are included in this theme.
Like most themed quizzes, there are both well-known and obscure songs.

Enjoy!

Oh mother, tell your children
#01)

And with each glass of wine, I feel a glow
And very soon, I know
I was a fool to let my baby go
#02)

Oh mon amour
Tu est la vague
Moi, l'ile nue
Tu vas, tu vas et tu viens
Entre mes reins
#03)

Because this love now (because this love)
Is only yours and mine (yours and mine)
#04)

One fine day, I'm gonna be the one
To make you understand
Oh yeah
I'm gonna be your man
#05)

I die each time
I hear this sound
#06)

We'll leave the city folk
They'll have to stay
Don't have to pack a thing
#07)

If you see me comin', better step aside
A lot of men didn't, a lot of men died
#08)

And the angels ask me
To recall
The thrill of it all
#09)

See, don't ever set me free
I always wanna be by your side
#10)

When I know very well what I say
I say no moon in the sky ever lent such a glow
Some flame deep within made them shine
Those eyes are the eyes of
#11)

When she walks by
She brightens up the neighborhood
Oh every guy
Would make her his
If he just could
#12)

We've already said
#13)

Mountain streams
Swelled with pride
Gone the dry river bed
Gone the dust from the valley
#14)

If I shower you with kisses
If I tell you, honey, this is,
How I think of heaven
#15)

You won't be seeing rainbows anymore
#16)

I've searched and I've searched
But I couldn't find
No way on earth
To gain peace of mind
#17)

Gettin' soakin' wet
Torturing my heart
By trying to forget
#18)

I hear the sound of bugles blow
Far away, far away
And if they call, then I must go
Across the sea, so wild and gray
#19)

No colors anymore
#20)

I'm making up for things we said
woo pah oh yeah yeah
And mistakes to which they led
woo pah oh yeah yeah
I shouldn't have gone away
So I'm comin' back today
#21)

And you know it's right
And you know that it's right
#22)

People follow like sheep
Even though there is
Nowhere to go
#23)

So, run to him
Before you start crying too
#24)

I love you so much
I know what I'll do
I'm clippin' your wings
25)

------------
Tie-Breakers
------------

You thought you was a clever girl
Giving up your social whirl
You can't come back, be the first in line, oh yeah
You're obsolete, my baby
#T1)

Love is just like a merry-go-round
With all the fun of the fair
One day, I'm feeling down on the ground
Then I'm up in the air
Are you leading me on?
Tomorrow, will you be gone?
#T2)
