GOLDEN OLDIES LYRICS QUIZ #399 (GOLQ399)

Welcome to GOLQ 399! This month's quiz has a theme and all 27 songs share
characteristics of the theme. Here are some clarifying instructions and a hint
to the theme: I have an intended artist for both T1 and T2, but both songs
were covered by more than one eligible artist. I will give credit for any
artist as long as 1) the lyrics in their rendition match my lyrics exactly;
2) the artist fits alphabetically in the song sequence; and, 3) the artist's
rendition was recorded and released prior to 1970 (the end point of our GOLQ
era). Enjoy!

Wise men never go
But wise men never fall in love
So how are they to know
#01)

The winds of March
That makes my heart a dancer
A telephone rings
But who's there to answer
#02)

Another bride, another June
Another sunny honeymoon
Another season, another reason
#03)

If there's a cloud above
If it should rain, we'll let it
But for tonight, forget it
#04)

That little kiss you stole
(You stole) Oh, you stole
(Yes, you stole) Oh, you stole
(You stole) Oh, you stole
#05)

Sometimes I wonder
Why I spend the lonely night
Dreaming of a song
The melody haunts my reverie
And I am once again with you
#06)

I hope you do believe me
I've given you my, my, my, my, my, my
Given you my heart
#07)

It's far beyond a star
It's near beyond the moon
#08)

There's a line between love and fascination
That's hard to see on an evening such as this
For they both give the very same sensation
When you're lost in the magic of a kiss
#09)

And so it seems that we have met before
And laughed before
And loved before
#10)

Every cloud must have a silver lining
Wait until the sun shines through
Smile, my honey dear
While I kiss away each tear
#11)

The moon may be high
But I can't see a thing in the sky
#12)

But each time I do
Just the thought of you
Makes me stop before I begin
#13)

Every day I reminisce
Dreaming of your tender kiss
Always thinking how I miss
#14)

I've got my girl
Who could ask for anything more
#15)

With love to lead the way
I've found more clouds of gray
Than any rainy day could guarantee
#16)

Whether near to me or far
It's no matter, Darling, where you are
I think of you
#17)

You'll hear me say that I'm
So lucky to be loving you
#18)

A kiss is still a kiss
A sigh is just a sigh
The fundamental things apply
#19)

I can only give you love that lasts forever
And a promise to be near each time you call
And the only heart I own
For you and you alone
#20)

They asked me how I knew
My true love was true, oh
I, of course, replied
Something here inside
Cannot be denied
#21)

I'll find you in the morning sun
And when the day is through
I'll be looking at the moon
#22)

You knew just what I was there for
You heard me saying a prayer for
Someone I really could care for
#23)

In time the Rockies may crumble
Gibraltar may tumble
They're only made of clay
#24)

Light, light up your face (ha, ha) with gladness (come on)
Hide every trace of sadness
#25)

------------
Tie-Breakers
-------------

So close she stood to me
Everything seems all wrong now
She would have brought me the sun
Making me smile
That was her fun
#T1)

Except when soft rains fall
And drip from leaves, then I recall
The thrill of being sheltered in your arms
Of course I do
#T2)
