GOLDEN OLDIES LYRICS QUIZ #411 (GOLQ411)

Hello and welcome to oldies lovers world-wide.

This month's quiz is chocked full of obscurities BUT as usual
with my quizzes I have provided a bit of help. As you stroll
through the quiz, you will find a verbal similarity (in various
forms) in many of the songs. This may occur in lyrics, title,
or artist. There are 22 of those. There is also a mini-theme
based on something reported by a Cleveland sports figure.
There are 6 of those; you will be out-of-this-world over these.
"HOLD ON"! you say; that doesn't add up. There is at least one
two-fer that fits both categories. You will identify both
components pretty quickly.

Have fun and stay well everybody.

                        Golden Oldies Lyrics Quiz #411
                Recordings #01-25 were from 1957 through 1969
Due 5:00 PM EDT (GMT-4) on Friday, April 30, 2021.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I know you been treating me wrong
Ah, so long
I'm gonna send you back where you belong
#01)

I'm a spaceman
Sent from the moon
Shot out of a missile
And heard this tune
#02)

When you walk
Let your heart lead the way
And you'll find love any day
#03)

Where you walk, flowers bloom
When you smile all the gloom
Turns to sunshine
#04)

And I know how happy
His clothes must be
Cause that's how I feel
When he's close to me
#05)

Put on wooden shoes
Walk away all your blues
Watch the windmills chase the gray clouds away
#06)

Right through the door
And all around the wall
A splotch, a blotch
Be careful
#07)

Bye-yi, baby,
I don't a-mean maybe
Gonna get along somehow
Soon you'll be crying
On account of all your lying
#08)

Walked into Sol's Saloon
Like a man insane
And ordered three fingers
Of two cents plain
#09)

The tears and the sadness you gave me
You put the hurt on me
You socked it to me, momma
When you said goodbye
#10)

{Joanie} No, no she'll never do
{Peggy} No it isn't her too
They would never
#11)

(Spoken:)
When your stomach speaks
You forget your mind
When your mind speaks
You forget your heart
But when your heart speaks
You forget everything
#12)

Mmmm Baby
But I got news for them
I mean all your so called friends
They can wait if they want to
But they're never gonna see me cry.
#13)

Well everybody told me
Our love couldn't last
They said, She'll never be true
To a loser like you
She's out of your class
#14)

Can you tell me where he's gone
I thought I saw him
Walking over the hill
#15)

If I heard your voice
I'd beg you to stay
So don't say a word
Just run, run away
#16)

Whatcha gonna do when the well runs dry
You gonna run away and hide
I'm gonna run right by your side
For you, pretty baby, I'd even die
#17)

You'll walk me home
Now let me hang up the phone
And don't forget the numbers
#18)

Everybody's talkin' bout a new way of walkin'
Do you want to lose your mind?
#19)

I can feel a new expression on my face
I can feel a glowing sensation taking place
I can hear the guitars playing
Lovely tunes
Every time that you
#20)

Yeah, these cats from outer space
They were givin' it all
I could tell by the way they jumped it
They were havin' a ball
They had me pattin' my feet
And just a-clappin my hands
#21)

As we walked all alone
He asked me for my phone
He told me his name
And I told him the same
#22)

Through my burning tears
I saw you walk away
And now you beg
Me to forgive you
But this time, baby
It's your turn to beg
#23)

They come at night
They sneak at night
They take the power
From our lights
#24)

My friends have all gone
And you too
No more peace shall I find
Until you come back
And be mine
#25)

------------
Tie-Breakers
------------

(spoken:)
Yes friends, here we are,
And the police are trying to open the door
of the strange craft.
{sound effect}chink, chink chink
Wait, there seems to be a voice coming from inside.
{sung:} I hear you knocking, but you can't come in.
#T1)

(spoken:)
All I could see
Were ruins,
Ruins of some type of civilization.
Crumbled buildings, deserted streets, charred vegetation
All covered with a thick layer of dust
#T2)
