GOLDEN OLDIES LYRICS QUIZ #421 (GOLQ421)

Welcome to GOLQ421! There is one major theme that covers 23 of the regular
songs and one of the tie-breakers. The other three songs are tributes to four
entertainment industry people who died between November 2021 and January 2022,
inclusive, and who are not usually regarded as musical performers. (One of
these songs has a connection to two of these people.) Any of the songs for the
major theme that may be connected to recently-deceased people were placed into
this quiz either before they died or before I knew that they had died.

If this is love you gotta give me more
Give me more
Hey hey hey
Give me more
#01)

I took my loved one over 'cross the tracks
So she could hear my man a-wailin' sax
I must admit they have a rockin' band
Man, they were blowin' like a hurrican'
#02)

Up like a rocket ship
Down a-like a roller coaster
Fast a-like a loop-de-loop
And around like a merry-go-round
#03)

Ain't a woman here before
Knows how to make the morning come
So hard to keep control
When I could sell my soul for just a little light
#04)

I knew that he was mine
So I gave him all the love that I had
And one day he took me home to meet his mom and his dad
#05)

Well, say you never
Yes, you really never
You never give me a chance
#06)

And Janie is the girl, well
That I'll be with tonight, uh
And when she asks me which one I love the best, uh
I tear open my shirt and I show her "Rosie" on my chest
#07)

It's a time for joy
A time for tears
A time we'll treasure
Through the years
#08)

Hold my hand
Tell me I'm your lovin' man
Oh baby
#09)

A boy and girl
They fell in love
Each it was like heaven above
He looked into her eyes of blue
She vowed to him that she'd be true
#10)

It's not a big motorcycle
Just a groovy little motorbike
It's more fun than a barrel of monkeys
That two-wheel bike
#11)

The guys come to race her from miles around
But she'll give 'em a length and she'll shut 'em down
#12)

Well people look at me and say
Hurrah, hurrah is that your horse?
#13)

Oh my darling don't you cry
Guardian angels up above
#14)

Oh well you shake your shoulders
And you wiggle your knees
#15)

Take my hand
You got me rockin' and a-rollin'
Rockin' and a-reelin'
#16)

It's just one little thing I got to make come true
It's just one round I've got to win
I can't be a loser with you
#17)

I never had a love of my own
Maybe that's why
When we're all alone
#18)

Everywhere people stare
Each and every day
I can see them laugh at me
And I hear them say-ay-ay
#19)

A little wink
Can reveal just what you think
Don't be shy
Don't even sigh
For you are my guy
You are my guy
#20)

First of the fall
And there she goes back
Bye, bye, bye, bye there
#21)

Tell me why
I want to know
The many ways you speak of love
I've heard before
And it sounds so good
Every time
#22)

Why does my heart skip a crazy beat?
For I know it will reach defeat
#23)

She's so lovely beside me
And whatever betide me
Got an angel to guide me
So I'm on my way to heaven
#24)

All through thick and thin
Our love just won't end
'Cause I love my baby, love my baby
#25)

------------
Tie-Breakers
------------

And I love it, love it
(La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la
La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la)
You're my baby, oh yeah
Don't mean maybe, oh yeah
(La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la
La-la-la-la-la-la-la)
I know your eyes are not on the guys
When we're apart
#T1)

When we meet I feel I'm on fire
And I'm breathless every time I inquire
"How are things in Tacarembo La Tumbe Del Fuego Santa Malipas
Zatatecas La Junta Del Sol Y Cruz?"
#T2)
