GOLDEN OLDIES LYRICS QUIZ #431 (GOLQ431)
Welcome to GOLQ431, which is an audio GOLQ. This quiz has several sub-themes,
some of which are only meaningful to me in a somewhat personal year in review.
But unlike other quizzes, I will reveal one of the sub-themes ahead of time.
The holiday season has traditionally been a time in which artists and record
companies release compilation albums of past hits. These are often given
titles containing the phrase GREATEST HITS or BEST OF, sometimes with a volume
number if the artist has had multiple such issues. So one of the sub-themes
of GOLQ431 is REGINA'S GREATEST GOLQ HITS or THE BEST OF REGINA'S GOLQS. I
have included some songs in this quiz that I could have included for past
themes but didn't for one reason or another (the most common being that the
song is an instrumental, and I was doing a lyrics-only quiz, and that the song
was used too recently in a past GOLQ). I hope you enjoy this sub-theme and
won't think of it using a title taken from a compilation album once released
by the Jefferson Airplane--THE WORST OF REGINA'S GOLQ.
One of the tie-breakers was released under different forms of the artist's name
at different times. All variations of which I am aware fit alphabetically in
relation to the other tie-breaker, and all will be accepted as correct answers.
