It's February, the days are short, so is the month. There is no theme with this quiz. I've included songs that I haven't been able to fit into any of the themed quizzes. The two tie-breakers have something in common. And once again, Bob Bluestein has contributed a puzzler for your amusement and enjoyment. Good luck and enjoy! Your participation or performance has no bearing whatsoever on your quiz score or ranking. Please note that the grid and clue answers below have been designed to be printed using a fixed-width font such as Courier. (Copying the text below into a word processor and editing some may help get columns lined up properly and put each section on its own page before printing.) MONEY MATTER$ This puzzle is an acrostic. It contains a grid followed by 26 clues (labelled A to Z) whose answers' letters are used to fill the grid's squares. Following the clues is the Clue Answers section, containing 26 lines with slots in which to put the answers' letters. Each clue's answer consists of one or more words. Most slots have a number-letter pair under them. If so, this indicates where its clue answer letter should be placed in the grid. For example, "2f" indicates that that slot's clue answer letter should go into the grid's square in the second row, sixth column. The letter in the upper right corner of each square indicates the clue from whose answer that square is filled. Note that spacing between letters and words in the answer lines is irregular (for your inconvenience!). When completed, the grid will reveal a statement (with all spacing and punctuation removed, for your even greater inconvenience!) answering the following: In "Can't Buy Me Love", The Beatles sang "I don't care too much for money". On the other hand, in covering Barrett Strong's "Money (That's What I Want)" (written by Janie Bradford and Berry Gordy, Jr.), they sang "Money don't get everything, it's true / What it don't get I can't use / Now give me money".
